This will be our kickoff to the wedding festivities! Also we wanted to allow everyone a chance to connect and meet before traveling to Dunskey Estate on Tuesday. Everyone already knows someone in the group, but we want to kick of the festivities and bring everyone together in Glasgow!
Please plan to meet us and other wedding guests from 5:00 - 6:30 PM at The Ivy for a snack and beverage.
As we will be sequestering you to the Coast and the Country for three days, we want you to make your own plans for dinner and adventures on Monday evening and enjoy Glasgow!
Lunch, Historical Spots to See or Whisky Tasting
UPDATE (5/13)
The shuttle will depart from the voco Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow at 11:30 AM. Please eat breakfast or whatever you want, check out of your hotel, and have all of your belongings with you when you meet up with us at the voco Grand Central Hotel between 10:30 - 11:15 AM.
The shuttle will transport us one hour outside of Glasgow and then stop for a break in the heart of the picturesque Ayrshire village of Kirkoswald.
After the stop in Ayrshire, the Shuttle will depart for our final destination: Dunskey Estate!
Get ready for a scenic start to our adventure! Our shuttle will take us on a delightful hour-long journey from Glasgow to the charming village of Kirkoswald in Ayrshire.
At our Kirkoswald stop, you'll have a few options:
Lunch at Souter's: We've reserved a special room for those who'd like to eat lunch. (*Menu to follow)
Explore Local History: Discover the historic sites Kirkoswald has to offer just across the road is Souter Johnnies Cottage & the Kirkoswald Old Kirkyard.
Sample Scottish Spirits: Take a stroll down the block to the Rattray Tasting Room.
The Souter's Inn, Creamery & Restaurant is a place we've grown to love as a stop, during our Scottish travels and are eager to share with you. The owners and people of this community value their history and heritage.
After our time in Kirkoswald, the shuttle will take us to our final destination: the beautiful Dunskey Estate!
Upon arrival, around 4pm the Dunskey Team will be delighted to help you find your room and show you the house amenities. ♨️ If you need any clothing items steamed or pressed, please let the team know in advance.
Please feel free to relax, do whatever or join us in the main salon at 5pm on the first floor, to kick off the celebrations!
Attire: Jeans & Vintage T-Shirt
For this evening's continued celebrations, jeans and a favorite vintage t-shirt will highlight a happy hour featuring cocktails, mocktails, and delicious canapés. Come ready to relax and enjoy the party!
Following happy hour, please join us in the Dining Room for a special plated dinner! Michelin-starred Chef Dave and his talented team have crafted a menu filled with love, laughter, and delicious, locally sourced ingredients just for you. We can't wait to share this culinary experience with you!
Attire: White Shirt
In honor of Stacey's fondness for white button-down shirts, we encourage guests to wear their favorite white shirt to breakfast.
Breakfast will be served at your leisure, allowing for a relaxed and flexible morning. If you skip breakfast, there is food available all day in the Farmhouse Kitchen.
Attire: Garden Glamourous
The Dunskey Team will assist in directing you but please make your way down to the Walled Garden so that you are seated by 12:30 PM.
We recommend wearing wedges, flats, or large wide heels as there will be small stones, dirt paths and grass areas when you walk. Hats, fascinators, kilts, suits, tuxedos, floral shirts / suits or anything that makes you feel awesome is welcome!
The O'Brien tartan will be worn by Chris and will be in the keppahs.
The ketubah will be signed during the ceremony.
Toast the Bride & Groom
Following the ceremony, please join us for a celebratory toast! We'll take a short walk up to the front of the main house where we will have non-alcoholic sparkling, as well as champagne and delicious canapés will be waiting for you. We can't wait to raise a glass with you!
Get ready to dance the night away with a grand Scottish tradition and great cardio, Ceilidh dancing in the Great Hall! A hora will be danced as well, but no one is lifting anyone in chairs!
A friendly reminder: please leave your spiky heels at home to protect the floors.
Attire: Favorite Lounge Wear
Just role into your favorite lounge wear and head to the dining room, as the echoes of the wedding celebrations fade into the beautiful Scottish countryside.
Let's share stories, laughter, and perhaps a wee dram or two, as we reminisce about the joyous occasion. We'll have a delightful spread perfect for a leisurely morning.
We know many of you will sleep in, so feel free to swing by the United Turkey Red Bar whenever you're up, for all day eats.
Golfing made easy! Jane will coordinate all your golfing needs, whether you're playing once or every day. Club shipping or rentals (for men and women) can be arranged, and you'll pay the club directly.
Situated on the coast in south west Scotland, Portpatrick Dunskey Golf Club is just a short stroll through the estate and a few holes to the club house. The Club boasts two superbly maintained courses.
The Dunskey 18-hole, and the Dinvin 9-hole courses, which are a mixture of rolling moorland and seaside heath sit around 150 feet above sea level. Both courses offer spectacular views and on clear days the Isle of Man, Mourne Mountains and Mull of Kintyre can be seen.
Attire: jeans, the bug repellant and layers will be ideal
The Fire Feast is a dreamy last supper if ever there was one! With 2000 acres, we had to have a forest adventure cooking over fire, music and joyful guests!
This area is in the woods, with a bathroom, lights, and everything cooked on a open flame by the Michelin starred chefs! Walk to fire feast (rides available, if needed)
Thank You & Safe Travels
UPDATE (5/13) As you prepare for your onward journeys following the wedding, we wanted to provide a final update regarding departure transportation.
Please ensure the Dunskey Team has your return travel arrangements confirmed. As previously mentioned, we planned for one shuttle departure, initially estimated between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, as we did not know anyone's travel plans.
Now that we have received everyone's itineraries and finalized our guest list, we can confirm the single shuttle will now depart at 10:00 AM. The shuttle will drop off at Glasgow International Airport, with an estimated arrival time between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM.
Just a reminder breakfast bags will be available for you to take, or you are welcome to make alternative arrangements for your morning. The cost of this planned shuttle is included in your guest contribution.
Should you prefer to arrange an alternative departure time, Anne would be happy to assist you. However, please note that any additional shuttles at different times will incur an additional cost.
